favorite food friday

Okay people, if you don't know, now you know.

NUTELLA

I know, I know, people think it looks weird and don't want to try it. But, I'm telling you now that you will love it. Nutella is described as a hazelnut based spread. It is cleverly disguised as a "healthy" peanut butter, but it tastes like the most decedent chocolate you can imagine! I agree, the commercials are cheesy and don't give the product the credit it deserves.

Now, my friend Stephanie slathers peanut butter on any and everything. I'm not sure that she could interchange Nutella with every food. But, it is delicious on multi grain toast, crackers, etc - I'm guessing it would be insanely delicious on a croissant!

The moral of the story - if you haven't tried it, try it. If you have tried it, back me up!

how to... get addicted

For the longest time, I had a favorite addiction - all things Twilight. We're talking reading and re-reading the book series, checking every website for RobStew sightings and listening to the movie soundtrack nonstop.

Then I got pregnant and my addiction changed to all things "baby". How is the baby growing and developing this week? How should I decorate the nursery? What are we going to name the kid? Y'all know, I blogged about it every week (okay, okay I missed a few weeks here and there).

So, now that the bambino is here, I was in need of a new addiction. The crazy thing is, I didn't even know that anything was missing from my life. I found plenty everyday to keep me busy, how would I have time for anything else? Then, one day, during an innocent coversation with my friend Lindsey she tells me about this new iPhone app that I just have to get, "Words With Friends".
The addiction developed slowly - I started with just one game with Lindsey. Then, I found myself reaching out to strangers just to get more games! Addiction at it's best! What did I do next? I spread my addiction out to other friends and family. Before long I had everyone doing it. Now, I have at least six games going at all times. That may not seem like much to some of you "pros" out there, but I've got a lot going on right now - six games is a big deal! I'll play any chance I get - walking to my desk after dropping Levi off, while I'm feeding Levi (I have to take breaks when he wants to burp), and sometimes at red lights (no worries, I don't play while driving, that would be WAY too dangerous!).

I'm writing this post to warn you about addictions - this is not an intervention, in this case, I'm the bad influence. If you don't have "Words With Friends" on your iPhone - GET IT. If you already have it - start a game with me "Jennifer Stern".

haven't been bored lately

Wow, it's been a while. Unfortunately, I haven't been very "bored" lately - which leaves me with very little time in front of the computer. But, I realize that it is very rude of me to keep you all in the dark when you are very much fascinated with the going-ons of my life (humor me, please). Here's a quick update of what's been going on since the last time. So, I got the stocking finished just in time for Santa. And, it turned out very cute, if I do say so myself. Levi's first Christmas was so much fun. It snowed on Christmas Eve and we got to hang out at Uncle Chad and Aunt Jaime's house - it was so fun for us to spend the night together by the fire. Levi got a lot of goodies from Santa and everyone else! He's got so many toys to play with when he hits the six month mark!!!
The week after Christmas we got Levi's pictures professionally done. We are so pleased with the way they turned out. Here's one of my favorites.
Then, the first week of January I went back to work and little man to day care. He settled in pretty nicely to his room, Room 10. There are so many cute little ones in his class. Here's a picture of him in his crib there. It has been so wonderful having him just downstairs from me!
After the second week of day care, Levi got RSV. It's a form of the cold virus that can be very dangerous for little ones. He was having a hard time breathing and was throwing up a lot after he ate. So, we spent two nights in the hospital last week. They took great care of him and he is getting better. He still has a pretty fierce cough, but we are keeping up with the breathing treatments and hopefully he will be all better by the end of the week.
Otherwise, we are hoping to get back to normal this week. Not sure what "normal" is just yet, but I'll let you know when we find it.

stocking update - one week left!

Alright, I'm getting close to my Christmas deadline. I have 6 more days to get this stocking complete. From the picture below, you can tell that I've spent more time developing my lil man rather than the stocking. But, I have a lot fewer steps left to complete the stocking than I have to complete my son! I had him sewing too, but he got sleepy and decided to take a nap instead. I don't have too much left to do, just have to finish sewing his name and then have to attach that and the bird to the stocking. Then, I have to add the berries, stitching and bells on the boots, Santa's right hand, the ball on top of his hat and then sew the back on... not too much, right?!

Also, check back later for a Favorite Food Friday!

stocking update

Alright, I've been working on the stocking - making some progress. I'm learning that it is hard to get started on something so detailed, I get limited time to dedicate to these projects. I am excited about how it is turning out. I construct Santa's face next, so I think that will make a big difference. So far I am done through Step 13 - that's like halfway!

And here's a picture to show you how my other "Santa" is progressing!
